Curriculum & Programs of Study - International Schools

At AlHussan International Schools, our academic programs build a strong foundation
from early childhood through high school, preparing students for success in higher
education and an interconnected world. Through American, British, and International
Baccalaureate (IB) programs, students develop the knowledge, skills, and global
mindset to thrive across diverse systems and cultures. Alongside the AlHussan High
School Certificate, students earn internationally recognized qualifications, with many
graduates gaining admission to leading universities worldwide.

Kindergarten & Primary

Students follow the AlHussan International Curriculum, which blends:
• American Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for English and
Mathematics
• Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) for Science
• The Cambridge Primary Curriculum
This integrated approach ensures that students build strong literacy,
numeracy, and inquiry skills from the earliest years.

Middle School

In middle school, students may choose one of two pathways:
• American Program – based on the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and the
Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)
• British Program – based on the Cambridge Lower Secondary Framework
Both programs emphasize critical thinking, problem-solving, and academic
independence, preparing students for the rigor of high school study.

High School

American Program
The American High School Program provides a well-rounded education based on the
Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and the Next Generation Science Standards
(NGSS). Students may take College Board Advanced Placement (AP) courses, which
strengthen university readiness and develop higher-order thinking skills.

British Program
The British Program follows the Cambridge Assessment International Education
framework, offering IGCSE and A-Level qualifications through accredited providers
such as Cambridge, Oxford, and Pearson. This globally recognized pathway develops
strong analytical and communication skills, preparing students for university admission
in Saudi Arabia and abroad.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP)
The IBDP is a rigorous two-year program that develops inquiring and caring learners
through its core components—Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Creativity, Activity, Service
(CAS), and the Extended Essay (EE)—which promote critical thinking and community
engagement.
